3D printed in white nylon plastic with a matte finish and slight grainy feel.
Product Description
This sculpture is based on a fractal arrangement of tiles derived by cutting an octomino (a shape made up of eight squares) into four congruent pieces. A group of four tiles constitutes the first generation. The tiles with two of the four orientations are 10% thicker than the other two to delineate the individual tiles. The tiles are scaled down and placed adjacent to the larger tiles according to a matching rule. Iterating this process leads to a fractal, the first four generations of which make up this sculpture.
