Product Description
This is an unusually-rigged pirate ship, mainly because I was experimenting with different methods of creating the curves on triangular sails (the curves on square sails are much more straightforward to make).  The Crimson Corsair is a character from a story that I started writing when I was 12 and... abandoned.  It involves a Russian ship getting lost during the Great Northern War of 1700-1721 and sailing all around the world, battling the British, Ottomans, Indians, and a Swedish ship that always seems to catch up.  The Crimson Corsair is a wily French pirate whom the Russian crew matches wits with several times before the two finally join forces to defeat the Swedes.  His ship is a hodgepodge of different styles, combining a Bermuda jib, an unusually large lug-rigged mainsail, and gaff-rigged mizzen all on a Mediterranean hull.  Truthfully, I have no idea how well this setup would actually work, but it was fun to make.

Note: The 1/1800 scale option is actually 1/1500 scale.  Shapeways does not allow me to choose whatever scale I want under variants, and 1/1500 isn't an option.
