I am a 3D character artist and animator from the greater Boston area. I am passionate about creating compelling 3D characters and bringing them to life through rigging and animation. I have a love for creature/digital sculpting (in Zbrush). I am a big fan of Stan Winston, Rick Baker and Ray Harryhausen.
I moved from the Netherlands to the United States in 2006 to pursue a career in 3D animation. During my college career (at the New England Institute of Art) I fell in love with the character creation process in addition to animating (both in 2D and 3D). After graduating in 2010, I've done a variety of 3D-oriented work ranging from medical animation/visualization to the creation of game art/assets/characters. I like stepping out of my comfort zone to explore new forms of media.
In 2012 I became an instructor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where I currently teach several game art-oriented courses as part of their Interactive Media and Game Development (IMGD) program. It is a really great experience to be able to work with students and to see their artistic skills develop over the duration of a term.
