Product Description
The Omega Octant is east of the Alpha Octant empires seen in the Star Fleet Universe (beyond the Inter-Stellar Concordium), on the other side of a galactic void. That void is a dead zone where life is impossible and ships fall apart, marking a separation between Octants. The Maesron Alliance was one of the preeminent empires of the Omega Octant, at one point the largest empire before civil war, economic collapse, and foreign invasion reduced their territory to a small enclave. Maesron ships are armed with wide-angle phasers, tachyon guns, and tachyon missiles.

The Maesron Alliance preferred to deploy its fighters in squadrons of 14, typically comprised of eight superiority fighters, four tachyon gun fighters, and two tachyon missile fighters. However certain units were obliged to field “short squadrons” of 8, 10, or 12 fighters. Squadrons deployed to Maesron ground bases replaced the tachyon gun fighters with additional tachyon missile fighters, while the light and heavy carrier pods used by Maesron tugs used superiority fighters only. All of these Advanced Fighters emerged too late for all but a few prototypes to serve in the Second Great War, yet in time to defend the Alliance during the Andromedan and Souldra invasions of the Sixth Cycle, and to support the Maesron Renaissance in the Seventh Cycle.

The Advanced Standard Fighter was armed with a pair of wide-angle phaser-3s and was the most rugged of the Maesron phaser fighters, with the highest dogfight rating, yet was marginally slower than its immediate predecessor, the Improved Standard Fighter-A. An electronic warfare variant of this fighter type would later be developed, which was the single most common EW fighter type used by the Alliance.

The Advanced Tachyon Fighter was armed with a single wide-angle phaser-3 and a single tachyon gun and was the most rugged of the Maesron tachyon gun fighters, yet was marginally slower than its immediate predecessor, the Improved Tachyon Fighter-A. An electronic warfare variant of this fighter type would later be developed, though it was much less common than the Advanced Standard EW fighter.

The Advanced Missile Fighter was armed with a single wide-angle phaser-3 and a single tachyon missile and was the fastest and most rugged of the Maesron tachyon gun fighters, markedly superior to its immediate predecessor, the Improved Missile Fighter-A. An electronic warfare variant of this fighter type would later be developed, though it was much less common than the Advanced Standard EW fighter.

This comb of fighters includes four Advanced Standard Fighters, two Advanced Tachyon Fighters, and one Advanced Missile Fighter. It is available in a variety of materials. Fighters are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
