A number of cycling devices now use the GoPro mount as a standard interface. This means with this new GoPro Saddle Mount from MagCAD there's a whole host of devices you can now mount underneath your saddle. Although it still makes for great shots mounting your GoPro camera in this position.
This product was actually developed for track cyclists and pairs perfectly with the MagCAD SRM GoPro Mount.
The two items together allow you to mount your SRM PowerControl computer underneath your saddle where it complies with UCI regulations and it's aerodynamic impact is low.
The mount fixes to almost all saddle rails and can be orientated with the GoPro half either above or below.
The below hardware is also required and very simple to source locally:
- 1x M5x30mm Cap Screw
- 1x M5 Locking Hex Nut
Receiving your mount
Because there are multiple parts to the GoPro Mount the 3D model is printed with a loop. A 2mm tube through the hole centres (not touching) of each part. This keeps the items together and simplifies processing. When you receive your mount simply cut the loop with pliers or scissors and discard.
I’m a MEng Aerospace Engineer and former professional cyclist. All the items, including this mount, are ones which I’ve developed and use myself. A hobby which I take too far but want to share with others.
Feel free to get in contact with any questions or feedback. Individual customisation will be considered.
