Product Description

40ft Hopper based on the NHN 400 series prototype. Originally built by NSC in 1971 and used by ONT before making their way to the NHN gravel train.

I designed this model because after searching and searching I've come to find there are no n-scale 40ft + 12-panel hoppers on the market. You can either find them 40ft or 12-panel but not both!

Model shall be printed in Frosted Extreme Detail. To finish you will need to:

-Snip the 3 horizontal brace supports that have been added to prevent bowing/flexing during production.
-install brake wheel*
-(optional) Run a straight thin wire down from the brake wheel through the small hole in the platform below it.
-(optional) To install the brake line, locate the 5 tiny holes along the bottom of 1 side of the model and install lift rings*. Run a wire through the lift rings and bend each end back under to near where the trucks mount.

*Brake wheel and lift rings can be purchased elsewhere and a small amount of glue should be applied to secure them in place.

Notes:

-You may need to slightly bore the optional mounting holes with a tiny drill bit.
-Designed to be weighted and run with a load of gravel.
-Recommended to soak in Bestine prior to painting.
-I've listed the item since I've had my first successful print with Print It Anyway but may continue to refine the model.
-Feedback appreciated!
