Product Description

HO Railroad Well Car designed to work with 18" curves and look good next to readily available inexpensive rolling stock like I own.

My trial model was printed in White Strong and Flexible. I ended up pulling a dozen or so rail cars behind it with no problem. If you print it in another material I would love feedback on your results.

It is simulating a 57 foot well car and will hold either a 44 or so foot trailer or 34 foot or shorter container or two. I think a regular 28 footer on bottom and 40 footer on top would look well.

To mount trucks I screwed a small hole center in one of the edges and used a machine screw then a couple washers to achieve the height I wanted and to clear the coupler housing.

For coupler mounting I used a Kadee housing and super glue.

My paint scheme is loosely Alaska Railroad since I already own some red BNSF well cars. Do not the rough texture compared to plastic models. Soon I will order some decals to liven it up further.
