Hello everyone,

Today Shapeways has been "live" and open to the public for one year. We are celebrating our first year as a community by giving you a huge discount on our first Creator, the Lightpoem.

You can now get a Lightpoem for $35 (25 Euro's) including shipping excluding tax. This discount is valid for the first 100 people that order a Lightpoem starting...NOW

Congratulations and happy birthday to you too! You make Shapeways into what it is. Your designs, inspiration, ideas and feedback turn a bunch of code into an inspiring place with huge potential. A place where ideas get turned into Fadi Cubes, Jeep Keychains, Stirling Engines, bracelets, anything. Thank you.

What will the coming year bring for us? One glimpse into our future is already live on the site. The Stylus Creator.

The designs in the Stylus Creator are the work of Extrudedqwerty(aka 16 year old, Stephen Yurkevitch). You can now add your initials to his Stylus designs and get a customized White, Strong & Flexible Stylus for $9.50 or a Stainless Steel one for $29.50. You can see all the different styli here.

In addition to this we are working on new materials, new Creators and improving the site and the Shops. Our next year will be focused on making things easier and cheaper for you so we can give more people their own "factory" and let them make things exactly as they want them to be.

We already listen to your feedback and include your suggestions & ideas in our roadmap and future products. In the next few months we will be reaching out even more to try to find out what you would like to see Shapeways become. We would also like to meet more of you to speak directly with you.

One opportunity to do this will be at SIGGRAPH in New Orleans. Shapeways will have a stand there showing off your work an will be there from Monday the 3rd to Thursday the 6th of August. If you're in the area or will be at SIGRRAPH we would love to meet up with you. Send me an email to meet up or just come say Hi!

Kind regards,

Joris Peels
