Product Description
The Kraken 248 Slant Bar Safety Razor is designed to provide a close and comfortable shave for those who enjoy an aggressive shave. This razor will be appreciated best by experienced wet shavers. This is an aggressive razor. For a mild shave, please consider the Manatee 208 or Whalebone 222 as alternatives.
In addition to the three pieces that are produced with a 3D printer, you will also need a selection of metric hardware:
Ideal: 1 M5-0.8 20mm flat head machine screw (drive of head does not matter) + 1 matching M5 8mmx4mm nut
OR
Alternative: 1 M5-0.8 20mm cap screw + 1 matching M5 washer + 1 matching M5 8mmx4mm nut
In either case, you might consider an extra matching M5 washer to use between the base plate and the barrel to prevent wear due to the friction over time. This is optional. Metric and imperial parts are not interchangeable. The angle of the head on the machine screw is different.
You will need to get these parts from your local hardware store or industrial supply center. Unfortunately, Shapeways is a 3D printing service and cannot provide you with the hardware in the package.
When your Kraken arrives, the three pieces of the razor will be connected by an interlocking pin. You will need to remove this pin to separate the parts. The use of the pin reduces the cost of manufacturing.
