Product Description
Superultradetailed models of the bunch of crates seen scattered around Echo Base and also in the Hoth exterior scenes. They seem to be the same shipping crates seen in Docking Bay 94 in the previous film, but instead of being upside-down they're usually sitting on their sides, long edge down.

They also have flat trays containing masses of greeblies, lights, and cables. Sometimes the trays are installed flat (vertical or horizontal, and perpendicular to the crate sides), and sometimes they're installed at an angle. There's a particularly good view of the angled type in the scene where Leia storms out of the command centre. Sometimes sheets of clear acrylic are installed across the front of the crates. The exact greeblies used are not known, and I've never seen any really clear photos of them beyond what we see in the film. So the greebly detail is an approximation to give the general vibe of technological business.

Those crates designed to accommodate trays have big holes in the bottom for running wires and fibre optics. And there are a number of small holes in the trays, for 0.25mm and 0.5mm fibres for lighting. The big holes in the crates also make it easy to push the trays out of the crates, using a toothpick or whatever, for test fitting and so on. Two of the crates are designed to be sitting empty, though you could put a flat styrene lid on them if you wanted.

Most of the crates were shiny plastic in medium grey, though one or two were darker grey. The trays were black or maybe dark grey, and you can pick out or dry brush the details in silver or grey. The small domes seemed to have been shiny chrome. The long angled internal panel with square holes was a kind of medium grey. Sometimes the crates had hoses coming out of their narrow faces.

These parts are only available in resin ("fine detail") plastic. I am not going to rework them to be printable using the "versatile" powder plastic process. This is because "versatile" prints look like rough sugarcubes, and all the insane detail built into these models wouldn't be printable at all.

There's a complex cage framework built around the tray pieces to protect them in production and shipping. This will need to be carefully cut away with fine sprue cutters.

Please read the following if you're interested in this item.

These accurizing parts are not mass-market commercial products. I made them for my own use, and have put them here in case they're of interest to someone else. Possibly you, since you’re reading this.

These are components for the serious model maker who wants to build a more accurate miniature. They require finishing. If you don't want to trim, file, sand, and glue, then these aren't the parts you're looking for!

The parts are tiny, and easily broken. They push the limits of today's 3D printers. The detail in the digital previews is all there, but it won't always be visible at the miniscule sizes that this scale requires!
