Product Description
The Falcon's cockpit door in ANH is never seen closed during the whole movie. And indeed it's not clear if a door was ever installed in the original set. Only from ESB onwards did the ship have a moving cockpit door.
However, the Bandai 1:72 “Perfect Grade” Falcon model has an ESB-era cockpit design, and it has a permanently closed door which is inconsistent with its ANH exterior. So I've designed replacements, of which this is version 2, which is simply an open doorframe. You just need to carefully cut out the existing door from the transparent backwall with great care.
It also means that you need to cut all the bracing out of the cockpit tunnel components and install a corridor of some sort, of course. I'm working on a corridor, but it's not done yet.
This doorframe also has the tiny bolts that the original set had – something that Bandai couldn't include in their version, because of limits to injection moulding.
