Product Description
LMS 12 ton Ventilated Van - a pair of ends only - 7mm scale (1:43)
LMS 12 ton ventilated van corrugated ends to suit the later LMS diagrams described in RJ Essery's "An Illustrated History of LMS Wagons Vol1". They are of the two part type, as opposed to the three part type used on some diagrams, and mainly suit the vans with horizontal planks rather than the plywood varieties. These also suit the BR pallet van conversions for which a pair of sides are available here on Shapeways (see link below). They will fit the sides for the old Freightman kits by Frank Titcombe (ideally the ones with 45degree corners not square corners - he did both). But please note they are not a substitute for the corrugated ends in the Parkside LMS van kits as those represent the earlier pattern.
You will receive two ends, without buffers, they are supplied as a pair to keep printing costs down (we realise many modellers want to provide their own metal buffers to suit the chosen prototype). You will need to provide all other parts to make a van, using spares sprues or left-overs from Parkside kits, ABS models, Freightman, or what-have-you; if you like building 7mm scale LMS kits you'll probably already know where to get the right bits and pieces. This item is listed in two materials, please check the properties of each one before ordering; we are very confident of the excellent surface finish and structural strength of Smooth Fine Detail Plastic (aka "FUD") and Smoothest Fine Detail ("FED") would be even better. We have test printed in PA12 Grey and found it lacks detail around the ventilators so discontinued this material. We do not offer models in Versatile Plastic.
