Furness 115 Class Baltic Tank 4-6-4T
Body created via commission works.
The cab sunroof opening is a little bigger than the drawings as per clients' request, there is another version with a smaller Sunroof. The Rendered pictures in LMS livery are with the smaller sunroof type.
Print photographs are upside down, they won't right themselves for some reason.
Optional cab doors are sprued underneith, if required clean them up with a file and they will slot in the housings.
Buffers and Guard Irons are also sprued underneith, same applies; clean the residue up and if required glue in place. Smokebox door is sprued to the front and the cab roof is included but as a separate piece.
There are 4 fixing holes in the rear of the loco to accept a 10BA bolt or similar, they can self tap although a nut can be used too. Careful reaming may be needed. Forcing it isn't a a good idea. There are also two large rectangular holes here to give the option to fill it with weight or a decoder etc.
Between the tanks and steps are stretcher bars to give stability in print and transit, carefully cut these off and file back.
As the material is FUD/FXD/SFDP the loco will need preparing before painting. A soak in a bowl of white spirit is a usual method although a few dislike it. Either way you'll be left with a white looking loco that then may need some fine sand paper and filler primer treatment before colouring it.

B) - The cab sunroof opening is a little bigger than the drawings as per clients' request, add a piece of plastic, brass or whatever for a lid. Also the Backhead Controls are closely based (although not exactly copied) from an ROD locmotitve as per request.
C) - A chassis likely will be worked on in the near future. As this wasn't part of the commission it hasn't been done yet.
D) - If you are thinking of using an RTR chassis I can't as of yet give any idea what would fit.
E) - The pictures WILL not go the correct way up, even if they are rotated in the actual file. For some reasons Shapeways insists on having them upside down for now, How silly.
