Product Description
The uniquely elegant pendant Gaia-16 arranges 16 cells on a perfect sphere. This makes it an ideal gift for a 16th birthday. Chemists love our Gaia beads for their similarity to fullerenes. To biologists they appeal as radiolarians like first described by Ernst Haeckel or as pollen. Due to their earth-like and organic form, the beads take their name from the greek goddess Gaia - mother earth and mother of all life.
All 16 cells are nicely rounded and all sprues are of the same width. The mysterious arrangement of the cells does not follow any perceptible order. Nevertheless, Gaia-16 features a rare and arcane symmetry. Inspect Gaia-16 with the 3D-viewer! Can you recognize its hidden perfect symmetry?
Gaia-16 can be worn on a necklace made of leather, silk, silicon, or of strands of cable. A necklace - and its clasp - can have a diameter of above three mm and will still fit across Gaia-16. It can be led through any pair of cells.
