Product Description
Object 730 began life as the IS-5, though, since the design was merely an improved tweak of the IS-3 (not as cramped, more than 3 degrees of gun depression, that sort of thing), the tank was shelved in favour of the IS-6. After the IS-6 proved no better than the IS-4, and the IS-7, as great as it was, was declared too heavy to be practical, Object 730 was revived as the IS-8. The tank underwent several minor changes before being released for production as the IS-10, and shortly thereafter renamed the T-10, though still retaining the Object 730 nomenclature at the Chelyabinsk Tractor Factory. This hull is identical to the one that comes with my full 1/100 scale model of the T-10, but without the fenders or stowage boxes over the tracks to show the actual shape of the hull. I had, in fact, originally made the hull this way, as I had access to cross-sectional blueprints of the T-10 hull, and then added the fenders and stowage boxes later, so all I had to do to make this was turn off a few features.
