This is a body of the Cambrian Railways Small Goods Class, or SGC for short. The main difference between this and the joint Furness version (Already uploaded and available) is the cab choice is removed and the rear steps have been remodelled to represent the straighter type used on the Cambrian Railway.
This has been created and uploaded as a request.
Due to it being uploaded later in Shapeways' new pricing structure it is a little more expensive, but only by a little.
For 7mm scale, re-scaled and tweaked from the 4mm version.
A BASIC version (Furness and Cambrian Joint) where you choose alternate detail parts 'pick 'n' mix' style is also available and that item can be ordered in the cheaper Versatile Plastic, formerly known as White, Strong & Flexible / WSF.
The locomotive went through several changes, most notible being different chimneys, safety valves and cab designs. These have been made separately so you can choose exactly what you need to suit your chosen railway company and period. The locomotive also went through at least four different boilers yet this model represents the original type.
However, in this purchase you have most of what you need to complete one version of the Furness D1. A set of safety valves, backhead controls, one chimney. The Backhead Controls will need filing a few mill' around the base to fit the cab splashers as the unit has been designed as a universal item to fit several locomotives.
To complete a different version or a Cambrian variant the aforementioned components are available separately.
The D1 and E1 ran with the 4 wheel tender also available. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/sparkshotcustomcreationsscc?section=7mm+Tender+Bodies&s=0 Tender Chassis: https://www.shapeways.com/product/YVKKB5D2M/7mm-fr-d1-e1-cambrian-spc-tender-0-chassis?optionId=63370533
One of the middle 4 lamp irons will need cutting off depending on prototype variant. Buffers and Smokebox Door need to be cut off as they are sprue joined. Other items are loose.
Cab sides have not had the rivets modelled due to so many variations, however Archer transfer decals easily sort that out for you as they have physical relief. DCC Concepts and others sell them.
