Product Description
Marie de la Cordelière was a 1000-tonne French carrack, built in 1505, and best known for exploding during the Battle of St. Mathieu and taking Henry VIII's flagship, the HMS Regent, down with her in 1512.  This ship, as well as the corresponding wreck, are both the subject of my 7th CAD tutorial.  I had a high-quality line drawing to work with, as well as several famous paintings of the battle, and I ended up making my model a composite of both the line drawing and one of the paintings.  Although no accurate protrayal of Cordelière is known to exist, recent virtual reconstructions of the HMS Mary Rose, which was the exact same type of ship, only much smaller, provided much of the information that I needed in order to be able to render this model.  This ship has her name embossed on the transom, but it will likely be completely undiscernable except on the 1/350 scale option.
