Product Description
The word sȝ in Ancient Egyptian means “protection” and “amulet”. It also refers to the act of driving off or repeling danger. The ideogram for sȝ, offered here appropriately as an amulet, is one of those symbols whose exact identity has been lost to time, but it appears to be a rolled bundle of reeds and it has been suggested that it either represents a form of temporary shelter or an early type of life-preserver. Ancient Egyptian versions of this amulet are known and informed the design of this one.
This one has nominally been called “version 1” and features some straight lines whereas “version 2” is a bit curvier. There is no effective difference between the two symbolically, which one you choose is purely a matter of personal preference.
