Product Description
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

LB&SCR E2  - in ~2mm British N Gauge 1:148 scale.

Also if you want one in 2FS / 1:152 scale please make it known and it can be arranged.

The E2 has been scaled down from the 4mm version with a few details removed or tweaked and inside walls thickened to be able to print in the smaller scale.  T
his smaller version for N gauge is intended to be used with a RTR 0-6-0 chassis from Dapol 57xx, Graham Farish Jinty etc.   A little bit of fettling underneith will likely be needed depending which chassis you use.

The Graham Farish 9400 Pannier Tank has been found to be a suitable donor chassis for the E2 although no doubt others will too.  It should be appreciated that not all possible RTR chassis combinations can be tried for obvious reasons yet this is one that can definetly fit with a bit of fettling.  For the 9400 chassis the underside of the smokebox saddle will need shaving into lightly with a sharp knife and a teeny bit of the boiler underside removing.  The cab sides on the inside may also need a bit of filing, same for the step insides.  Other than fixing it to the chassis, smoothing, painting and detailing that's about it.

Gareth Collier has taken the chassis a stage further and chose to give it an even lower ride height, he "
chopped a load off and added a Nigel Lawson motor and brake shoes etc."  With an FXD / Smoothest Detail Plastic print he has tweaked some details and added others, gave it a superb paint and lining job and produced an E2 that looks every bit as good as what you would expect modern RTR manufacturers to turn out, an absolute beautie!
Many thanks to Gareth for allowing the photographs to be shown.

Please note - the prototype photographs sometimes showed the Smoke-Box to have rivets and other times none at all. For this reason this model has been designed as the smooth type to print better and provide a better canvas. Rivets can be added by buying transfer decals that have physical relief. DCC Concepts is one manufacturer that supplies them.

BODY INSTRUCTIONS:
The Smoke-Box Door is loose.  The cab roof is loose.  The buffers are joined to the bufferbeam already.

The pipe along the boiler will need fabriacting from some Evergreen plastic rod or brass/nickel silver rod, same for the cab handrails.  Refer to prototype photographs.
You will need hand rail pillars or split pins and 0.3mm or less rod for the hand rails. To make the accurate positioning and fitting easier, holes have been slightly indented on the body; they just need drilling out.
