Product Description
This is the result of a small commission wherein the 1:148 British N Gauge Furness J1 body has be altered in a few ways, primarily to make it easier to be converted into a LNWR Coal Tank locomotive, the rest of the needed changes will be modelled by hand.
Changes are as follows:
The Firebox has been redesigned so as to be one with the boiler barrel. In other words it doesn't jut out from the boiler any more with a wider diameter, thus is no longer a J1 firebox.
Chimney, dome, safety valves and Buffers have been removed and replaced with small locating holes for alternate fittings. These holes are nominally 0.6mms thick so will need drilling out, yet the holes themselves give a drill bit something to grip.
The rear cab plate at the inside has been thickened up towards the front so it is roughly 1.5mms thick to give extra strength for withstanding work with a hand file. The Roof locating lips have been changed slightly to account for this rear modification.
The front leaf springs have also been removed.
Kit built or RTR chassis will be needed for the conversion, yet currently I can't give any reccomendations.
Maybe you could find an alternate use for this locomotive modification?
