Product Description
This is a 4mm / 1:76 scale body of a Furness Railway J1 Class locomotive.
This is the FUD/FXD version that is more crisp and smooth compared to the WSF/BSFoptions. Due to the high rivet count they may not print as well in the other materials so FXD would be the best option and FUD not too far behind.
Note: As of yet there is no backhead (cab control) detail as the computor and programs are majorly lagging and hanging up then glitching due to the file size being too large, as a result the backhead and alternative chimneys have been added as a seperate purchase. This is unfortunate but until I manage to get a major RAM, graphics card or processor upgrade done it is the only option viable sadly.
The model as standard is fitted with the smallest chimney out of the alternatives (available seperately from SCC), rather than model the alternative chimneys with the base as is often done they are designed with the main shanks to slot into the base instead - this ensures the lip isn't overly fat like on many kits and RTR examples. If however you would like to obtain some of the chimneys with the base all as one piece to add on to another engine or whatever please ask and it will be done.
Add your own hand rails, couplings and brake pipes. A few pipe runs and bits have been left off as they will model better using brass wire or similar, the coal rails are optional as some engines didn't have them so simply cut them off if you don't want them.
There are four Furness pattern lamp irons at the front, one of the middle two will need clipping and filing off. Both configurations are correct yet photographs show them to differ so please refer to your research to determine which needs chopping for your particular variant. If you are not fussed then either will do.
In front of the smokebox there is a hole in the running plate towards the headstocks as seen in photographs. An optional cover has been added on the sprue with the buffers.
