In an industry where respirator manufacturers are constantly evolving mask designs, materials, and form factors, OHD cannot afford long lead times when developing the adapters and components that interface with those respirators. OHD’s customers operate in highly specialized environments, from municipal fire departments to military installations to pharmaceutical clean rooms, each with unique respirator configurations or testing requirements. 

Traditional manufacturing required OHD to forecast demand and maintain large inventories of every adapter variant: a costly and often imprecise approach. When a respirator manufacturer released a new mask model or updated an existing design, the tooling and production process was lengthy, delaying customers who needed to test that equipment without delay.
