Product Description
Farragut-class destroyer [1944]
(contains half class of 4x destroyers)
- first class of destroyers built to post-WW1 design and limited to 1,500 tons under the London Naval Treaty (normal displacement of 1,350+ tons)
- original layout of 5x 127mm/38cal in single mounts; the #3 mount were landed in 1942 and replaced by 3x single 20mm light AA (later with 2x dual 40mm Bofors)
- they also carried 2x quad 533mm torpedo launchers along the centerline
