Product Description
The appearance of the new heavy cruiser classes about four years into the General War set the minds of naval architects to thinking as to just what else might be accomplished. The appearance of the Gorn dreadnought cruiser the year before had already shown that the path to dreadnoughts was not impossible. Design studies were commissioned, but it was determined that existing new light cruisers could not be used (due to their relatively fast production) and it would be necessary to build “standard” versions of these ships for war dreadnoughts. The idea was to increase the production of dreadnoughts, which meant building something the size and firepower of a dreadnought (even if it were a kludge of random parts of other ships) without using the dreadnought shipyard. Such ships led short and exciting service lives. The fans asked for this smooth-saucer version as a classic look and for ease of adding decals.
This ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
