The DY-500 only showed up on TV, on a display, depicting the SS Mariposa in the TNG episode "Up The Long Ladder". The TOS reference book, "Spaceflight Chronology", also depicted the DY-500. Here, the ship resembles the DY-100 even more, explaining why Kirk confused the two designs in "Space Seed". The same book also depicts an "uprated" variant that is almost identical to this version here. In fact, it seems as if this drawing was used as the basis for the Okudagram, depicting the SS Mariposa. The Tower and main hull are identical. Only the cargo pods have a slightly different shape and the engine section is quite different. The version in the book is stated to be 151m long. When i match the identical parts of the two drawings, the Mariposa ends up being about 140m long.
