Pintle (U.S. Military Hitch) 1/16 scale

This is a set of 10 pintles (upper and lower) mounted on a sprue.  The pintle is in two pieces so that when a pin is inserted, the upper part (latch) swings up to allow the ring on the trailer hitch to be inserted and the latch is swung down. 
Sizes:

• Small - is for small vehicles, jeeps, etc. This will fit the trailer's ring with a maximum of .120" (3mm) diameter thickness X .150" (3.81mm) inside diameter ring).  Use a pin diameter of .031" (.76mm).
• Medium - is for larger vehicles, truck, tanks, etc. This will fit the trailer's ring with a maximum of .150" (4.75mm) diameter thickness X .187" (3.81mm) inside diameter ring).  Use a pin diameter of .040" (1.015mm).

This replaces non-opening pintles on models enabling the towing of trailers.  Simply cement the back side of the pintle to your vehicle. (As with all Shapeways' versitle plastic, please clean and use ultraviolet light - sunlight - to complete the curing process before painting and you will have a strong, long lasting product.)

By carefully cutting apart the set of 10 you will have plenty of pintles for your vehicles.
