The Kzintis are a species of eight-foot-tall felines; the Klingons call them “tigermen.” They are adjacent to the Federation (and have fought two major wars with them, losing both) and the Klingons (and have fought several wars with them, winning a few and losing a few). Kzinti ships are armed with disruptors, phasers, and drones. They have more drones on their standard warships than any other empire, and forests of phaser-3s, because their ships are designed to fight each other. (They have had more civil wars than foreign wars.) They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans and allies of convenience with the Hydrans and Federation.
The rarest of the standard pod-based freighter, this is also the largest with four standard cargo pods. These ships are used only on the most well-established cargo runs where they are marginally more efficient than smaller freighters. During wartime, however, the military often commandeers such ships for use hauling military supplies, particularly fuel. While every empire used the
heavy civilian freighter, every empire also built their own local freighters which were able to carry both the standard 40x200 meter cylindrical pods as well as their national pods which had a similar volume but a unique shape. Here we have the Kzinti drive unit carrying four Kzinti cargo pods. In theory the civilian heavy freighter could carry the pods of any nation and the drive unit of any nation could carry any other nation’s pods.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
