Product Description
The Kzintis are a species of eight-foot-tall felines; the Klingons call them "tigermen." They are adjacent to the Federation (and have fought two major wars with them, losing both) and the Klingons (and have fought several wars with them, winning a few and losing a few). Kzinti ships are armed with disruptors, phasers, and drones. They have more drones on their standard warships than any other empire, and forests of phaser-3s, because their ships are designed to fight each other. (They have had more civil wars than foreign wars.) They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans and allies of convenience with the Hydrans and Federation.

The Command Cruiser is a specially modified Battlecruiser with improved communications and command facilities, as well as more power and weapons. It was an extremely powerful ship and was vital to the salvation of the Hegemony during the early wars with the Klingons and Lyrans as it could engage the best enemy cruisers on equal terms. The Command Cruisers were often used as flagships (for the Patriarch, Count, Duke, Marquis, Baron, and Crown Prince) in preference to earlier versions of the Dreadnought. (By the time of the General War, more modern dreadnoughts had taken over the flagship role for each fleet. The command cruisers were used for the second-in-command and to lead separate missions from the main fleet.) Some analysts attribute the long delay in the introduction of the Battlecruiser to the fact that Kzinti nobles served exclusively in the Command Cruisers before the Fourth Klingon-Kzinti War; the nobility credited the Command Cruiser’s success to a presumed “Noble Superiority” rather than technical advantages. Other analysts suggest that the Kzinti nobility, with the memory of the Usurper War still fresh in their minds, did not want any non-nobles flying ships equal to theirs. Known names included White Dwarf, Star Cluster, Zenith, Universe, and Cosmos.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
