Beobachtungspanzer Leopard Taillights 1:35

This set of tail lights and reflectors is specific to the Artillery Observation variant of the Leopard 1 tank.  It was developed as a replacement for aging observation vehicles based on M113 and KaJaPa hulls, but was not adopted for production.  Two prototypes were converted from Leo 1A5 tanks and extensively tested in the mid-90s, but the collapse of the Cold War made them obsolete.

These parts were used on a Revell kit converted to a Beobachtungspanzer.  There are six round reflectors but only four are needed - the other two are spares to replace the inevitable sacrifices to the Carpet Monster!  The round infantry phone box and replacement Commander's turret ring are available elsewhere in my Shapeways shop.
