Product Description
Using Romulan technology, the Klingons modified several D6-class battlecruisers to D6M mauler cruisers. The mauler was a massive cannon with a limiting firing arc. These ships were very useful in attacking bases, but could also destroy ships they targeted. Maulers became a combat force multiplier in fleet battles, but only the Coalition (Romulans, Klingons, and Lyrans) had the technology.
The engines, APRs, and the massive battery systems are all tied into the maulers. No power systems in the boom are connected to the mauler weapons. The D6M mauler cruiser may suffer shock when firing the mauler. Maulers are often used for other purposes (without firing the mauler) because their huge batteries make them the perfect ship to tractor beam the enemy flagship or plow through minefields. The Aztek panels on the outer surfaces represent efforts to reduce the electronic signature of the D6MK and match it to the D6M so the enemy could not tell the difference.
Known names include 56 Assassin, 61 Deathblow, 57 Executioner, 58 Exterminator, 60 Mangler, 37 Mutilator, 9 Sledgehammer, and 66 Siegebreaker.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
