Here's a new piece I really wanted to fix. No one seemed to notice just how badly the phone top section was modeled. So basic it's a joke. So as you know, my OCD got the better of me and I had to fix it. So... I present to you a complete replacement for that top! You get
12 parts, all sprued for easy painting and printing. The first part is the
main base... the second part is the
handle that should be raised off the base... Then I have
3 caps with little holes in the top, the holes in the caps correspond to the
3 small pins (also included). In the base you'll see 3 holes... the
3 larger pins fit in those holes. The final piece is the
cord adapter that fits the end of the phone cord and slides over the top of one of the lower plug in ports. The two larger caps fit on the lower two ports and the smaller cap fits on the upper port. Each cap is connected to the base with a chain and in the Ecto-1 are seen dangling over the sides of the unit and hanging from the chains (except the cap is on the right hand lower port, but it's the caps from the left hand port... I know, weird right?) Anyway... all the lettering is raised to make it easier to paint. I've included a reference photo for painting reference and assembly. I made this to coincide with Will Bill Green's free phone base. I hope you all enjoy this and let me know what you think... send me photos of your completed part to show me how it looks!
