This is a Klingon Space Station, akin to the ones seen orbiting around Ty'Gokor in the DS9 episode "Apocalypse Rising". The size is based on the mention in the "Star Trek Fact Files", that each of the three pods on the top can hold a single Bird-of-Prey. Well, the length of 2km would be needed to fit in a Bird-of-Prey at about 160m length, as stated for the smaller B'rel Class in the "DS9 Technical Manual". However, at this size, even a K't'inga would fit in, and somehow they don't look that big to me. The Klingon Bird-of-Prey isn't a good size reference anyway, because there is hardly any other ship in the Star Trek franchise that was scaled up or down on screen like this one. It has become a matter of taste to believe that there are different sized versions of this ship and how large they are. For my part, i stick to the intended design size of about 110m for the Klingon Bird-of-Prey and for that, it would be sufficient if the station would be only 3/4 (1.5km) or even just 2/3 (1.33km) the size. Personally i prefer the latter and so i also give alternate scales for those sizes.
