3125 Scale Kzinti Scout Drone War Destroyer (SDW)

The Kzintis are a species of eight-foot-tall felines; the Klingons call them “tigermen.” They are adjacent to the Federation (and have fought two major wars with them, losing both) and the Klingons (and have fought several wars with them, winning a few and losing a few). Kzinti ships are armed with disruptors, phasers, and drones. They have more drones on their standard warships than any other empire, and forests of phaser-3s, because their ships are designed to fight each other. (They have had more civil wars than foreign wars.) They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans and allies of convenience with the Hydrans and Federation.

Designed for drone bombardment missions, this ship is the larger equivalent of the much smaller scout drone frigate. Built on a war destroyer hull, the Scout Drone War Destroyer combines the abilities of a scout and drone bombardment ship at the cost of its direct combat capability (i.e., it has no disruptors). This ship actually has less drone control ability than a war drone destroyer as it is not intended for front-line combat. The Kzintis had long used squadrons of bombardment ships firing long-range type-III drones into a battle from a distance as a means of adding firepower to fleets limited to the number of warships the flagship could control. The Scout Drone War Destroyer carries over 100 drones in storage for the launch racks.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
