THE way to toughen, 4 link, and mount a servo on your front Redcat Portal axle. While the redcat portals are pretty stout out of the box they really show some weakness when you add any weight to the ends. Heavy wheels, brass, steel covers, etc can all cause a bit too much flex in the axle. When that happens you break the housings or in worst case scenario get binding and gears snapping.
We've solved the problem with this truss. We don't just make parts, we run them too. I've sent my Redcat Portal based metal chassis bouncer down hills, flipped, and generally abused it without a single break.
You'll need to ditch the ball stud mount for the shocks and use a regular ball with a screw instead.
If you break your axles using this truss you're having more fun that I could :)
HR brass c hubs needed some filing to fit. The truss fits perfect with the stock c hubs though.
Shapeways states a +/- 5% tolerance so some minor sanding may be necessary. We've done a lot of metal parts and shapeways usually nails the dimensions. The 20 day lead time is usually about 2x what it takes. In all of our orders we've only had one take longer than 10 days from order to ship.
