Kodai Class Fighter 1/500 Attack Wing Squad

This Federation fighter design first appeared in the games "Starfleet Command 1+2" and the PS2/Xbox game "Star Trek: Shattered Universe". There they are called Wraith_Class. Recently, Star Trek Online revived this as the Kodai Class Fighter.

Personally, i wonder why they picked just this one. Sure, it does have a very distinctive look and surely provokes a lot of nostalgia for those who have played the old games back then, but it was then and still is a very bad design in my opinion. Why would you give it a fighter like canopy, just to block the view to the front with that oversized deflector dish? This deflector on the other hand is partially blocked by the ship's nose. What purpose does it serve if it basically can only focus on a small point in front of the ship, and why does a fighter need to have such a large deflector dish anyway? Maybe it is part of the stealth equipment (as this is supposed to be a stealth fighter)? I think this is something the devs just found it looks cool, but when you think of it, it doesn't make much sense from an engineering point of view.
Whatever, to determining the size, i looked at the size of the cockpit. To fit a single pilot in this thing it would need to be at least 6m long, but considering that there also need to be some space for the equipment around him, 7m seems more reasonable. It could be also any other size, of course.
