Product Description
1:120 - GERMAN TIGER I TANK  (Panzerkampfwagen VI)
- RAILROAD  TRANSPORT  TRACK  VERSION -

Overview
This is a scalemodel of the famous German Tiger I tank for 1:120 WW2 model railroads.

THIS MODEL HAS THE SMALLER TRANSPORT TRACKS MOUNTED !
To spread the heavy weight of the Tiger tank, wide tracks were needed.
However, with these larger tracks the tank was too wide for transport by train (the trains would collide when passing each other).   Therefore the tank left the factory with smaller tracks and was then transported to the front by train.   The crews were trained to replace the tracks every time their tanks were transported.   On each side the 4 outer-roadwheels needed to be removed also.    The flatcar used for transporting Tigers was the 'German Schwere Plattformwagen Type SSyms 80', a six axle flatbed...

With it's large gun and thick armour, this tank was very difficult to destroy by the American Sherman- and Russian T-34 tanks.  The Tiger I was used in the movie 'Fury' (2014) with Brad Pitt.

Features
The model is designed to be printed in 5 parts;
- The turret can be rotated in any direction.
- The barrel has to be glued in place, so you can place it in any position you like (recommended horizonal).
- Option : 2 hatch pieces; closed hatch and open hatch with German tank commander.
- The model is fitted with the smaller transport-tracks
- 2 larger (battle)-tracks are included to place on the flatbed-car.
- 2 sets of 4 outer-roadwheels are inlcuded to place on the flatbed-car
- Model is based on blueprints to maximize accuracy.
- Provided with lots of details.

Painting
Before painting, always degrease your model in a glass of lukewarm water and a drop of dishwashing soap (do not use a dishwasher!).  Allow it to dry completely before painting.
Aplie a thin layer of paint, use 'drybrush' techniques to bring the detail alive.
If you don't have a lot of experience; watch multiple 'tutorials' on youtube about painting model airplanes and tanks.  You can't rush art, so be patient and take your time to finish the model ;).

Gluing
Use superglue, NOT modeling glue (Tamiya, Revell...)

Scale  1:120
1:120 is TT-scale for model railroads. (Table Top)
