Product Description
The ubiquitous small freighter was more common than any other ship (except perhaps the shuttlecraft, which was not considered a “ship”). It consisted of a 200-meter cargo pod (of various types) with a control module and a drive unit with space for a crew of 10. Many different companies built these ships; there are as many variants as there are companies. They all work exactly the same way.
Many freighters also carried a small module that was the diameter of the cargo pod (40m) but only a few meters long. These modules could be built for anything (many designs existed) such as passengers, special storage, heavy shuttles to offload the cargo at remote colonies, transporters for rapid unloading, weapons for self defense, luxury accommodations, self-defense weapons, or other things. Such a skid has a negligible effect on the movement cost of the freighter. About 10% of freighters had a skid of some kind.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
