Cost reduction: Hollow, 3mm wall thickness. Two parts and the saucer section tilted upward 45° to fit into the printer for Processed Versatile Plastic. Needs to be glued together. Some sanding might be required to make the two parts fit together.

Update June '21: New, more detailed and accurate model. Note, this newer version is rather based on the actual filming model than Picard's display model. The two differ slightly.

The USS Stargazer from TNG: "The Battle" was initially intended to be a Constitution Class vessel. It was then decided to use a larger version of the model seen in Picard's ready room instead. The class name was chosen so that an already finished scene with Geordi calling it a  Constitution could easily dubbed with Constellation.
