Product Description
Parseval-Siegsfeld "Drachen" observation balloon were used widely by Germany in World War I.

To accommodate Shapeways' Oct-14 pricing model, the 1:144 main body has been split in half, but it is easily joined using the built-in pegs and holes.  (Smaller-scale models are one-piece and have no basket.)  A conical, reinforced mounting hole is on the bottom fin so it can be used with a variety of stands. The 1:144 basket and ropes attach at mounting holes on each side with slight built-in tension to keep them in place. The basket and ropes can be removed for storage. The model is designed to "float" at a tilt with the tail side somewhat downward.

At sizes smaller than 1:144, no basket is included:  it's simply a one-piece model.   At 1:600 and 1:700, you get two balloons, joined by sprues (which you'll have to remove carefully).
