Designed for use with our Fowler Greig Portable Track Ties, this guide sets the correct radius for the 45' curve normally recommended as the minimum practical for use with locomotive power on 20" gauge. The notches in the Guide allow spikes to be inserted in the track panels to hold the rails to the ties and the ties to the roadbed. The guide can be cut into segments along the center of each pair of notches to allow for the construction of each of the shorter curved track panels available (nominally 15', 12', 9', 6', and 3'). In reality these measures are 3.6 degrees of arc each, or about 2'10" per segment. Please note that Fowler track measured the curve radius to the inside edge of the inner rail; 45' radius track is 45'10" to the centerline in reality, or a scale 45'10.375" when using 16.5mm gauge track.
