Product Description
Santa Slide is a design by George Miller, prototyped by Oskar van Deventer. It is a sliding disassembly/assembly puzzle. The puzzle has 9 pieces that fit inside a 3x3 frame. The puzzle features Santa, as George designed this on December 25th, 2019. The first piece at the top left can be easily pushed out. What results is a sliding-square puzzle with many blocked moves because of the protrusions of the pieces. After at least 18 sliding moves, the second piece can be taken out, and then the other pieces come out in a few more moves. The re-assembly requires reverse reasoning from the disassembly. Expert solvers may try to solve the puzzle face down. Of the 15605 essentially different ways to put the pieces together in a square, only 7 can be actually assembled into the frame. That puzzle would be closely related to Tom’s Square Dance Puzzle.
