The Detroyat Class destroyer is a FASA design, for which blueprints had been around since the early 80s. The class and lead ship were named after Pierre Léonce Détroyat (1829-1898), a French naval officer, journalist and author. It is sometimes misspelled Destroyat (even on some of the blueprints).
