Product Description
This sprue of ships contains the Romulan Tournament King Eagle, Romulan FireHawk+ Tournament Cruiser, Seltorian Tournament Heavy Cruiser, Frax Tournament Command Cruiser, Flivver Tournament Heavy Cruiser, and Vudar Tournament Heavy Cruiser.
The Romulan King Eagle was regarded simply as a heavy cruiser rather than as a command ship.
The Romulan FireHawk-K+ was the heavy cruiser of the Hawk-series. This ship is very similar to the SparrowHawk light cruiser, but has more center hull volume and a fourth engine. This is the late war period FireHawk-K+ with the “cranked arrow” look.
The Seltorians’ heavy cruiser was the workhorse of their fleet.
The Frax heavy cruiser was based on old wet-navy concepts. The weapons are disposed in turrets with Forward eXpanded and Rear eXpanded firing arcs (hence the name “Frax”).
Designed to duel with typical cruisers and stand in the battle line during fleet engagements, the Flivver heavy cruiser has two central “hover” engines and four Hyperdrone racks.
While the Vudar mostly built destroyers and frigates to control their sector of Klingon space, they built heavy cruisers to provide squadron leaders for detachments sent to patrol along the edge of the galaxy where the radiation was so high that Klingon ships did not dare enter. Conceptually just an enlarged war cruiser, the Vudar heavy cruiser was actually an entirely new design intended for long service.
This sprue of unpainted ships is designed to fit on a typical 5/8-inch hex map or to allow more room on a larger hex map. (If used for A Call to Arms: Star Fleet, simply change the measurements from inches to centimeters.)
