When they needed a ship that was partially materialized in solid rock for the TNG episode "The Pegasus", Rick Sternbach designed a new ship made of parts from the Enterprise-C (Ambassador Class) model. Unfortunately, due to budget limitations, they didn't build that and used the Oberth Class model (USS Grissom from Star Trek III) instead. You can read about this
here at memory alpha. I used the sketch there as a basis for this kitbash. I removed two of the phaser strips at the underside of the saucer, as they would have only a limited firing arc now with the nacelles in the way. Instead, i added two small strips to the nacelle pylons and one at the underside of the engineering section. Personally ,i like to think that this is the mirror universe ISS Pegasus that ended up in the same asteroid after testing the same interphasic cloak, when the cloak suddenly failed during a mutiny...
