Saetta was one of four Freccia-class destroyers (Freccia, Dardo, Saetta, and Strale) built for the Regia Marina (Royal Italian Navy) in the early 1930s. Completed in 1932, she served in World War II. She played a minor role in the Spanish Civil War of 1936–1939, supporting the Nationalists.
