3125 Scale Romulan Pioneer Eagle MGL

One ship type that every empire needed was a survey cruiser able to find new resources among unexplored star systems. The problem that the Romulans had was that they were essentially building an entire new warp-powered navy, and it was difficult in the days before they entered the General War to divert heavy cruiser production for such uses. One clever Klingon admiral noted the cargo pallet designed for the Freight Eagle transport would fit on any War Eagle variant, and this included the Owl (War Eagle Scout). The result, while slower than would be preferred, was a full-capability survey cruiser, with long range (due to fuel and supplies in the pallet) and special sensors. Ships of this type served the Romulans well until they were replaced by more modern designs, at which point converting them back into combat scouts was simply a matter of leaving the pallet at any convenient base.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. (Smooth Fine Detail Plastic makes an excellent cloaked ship!) Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
