This squad peg contains one of each shuttle types carried on board of a Sovereign Class Starship. The Type 11 Shuttle was especially created for the new Enterprise-E for the appearance on the big screen. The Type 17 was a heavy shuttle created for "Star Trek: Nemesis". It carried a buggy-like ground vehicle. The small shuttlepod on this squad isn't canon. It originated from a design sketch made for TNG, but was rejected because it was deemed to complicated to build as a full scale model due to the curved surfaces. The design was further simplified to become the Type 15 Shuttle on TNG then. Therefore, it looks like the natural evolution of this small shuttlepod, most probably introduced in the late 24th century. So it is believable that the Enterprise-E carried those on board, replacing the older Type 15 and also maybe Type 6 Shuttles.
