Product Description
  • (1:1800 & 1:2000) Extra image shows red part connecting the gun turrets to the main hull/body, preventing them from detaching during the printing process. Snip/remove them to free the gun turrets off their sockets, taking care not to damage the individual barrels.
  • The Mighty Hood was the last battlecruiser built for the Royal Navy. Laid down in 1916, her design was akin to the Renown-class with an extra turret and better protection (as knowledge gained from the Battle of Jutland taking place in the same year). She was due for modernization in 1941, but was unable to be implemented due to the outbreak of WW2, near-constant active duty, and her (final) sortie into the Denmark Strait
  • sunk 24 May 1941, against the German battleship Bismarck and heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen. One of Bismarck's 15in shell likely penetrated between the mainmast and 'X' turret, resulting in an immediate magazine detonation. She went down with 1,415 men with only 3 survivors
