Product Description
The Borak are six-limbed oxy-nitrogen breathers from a world similar to Earth, but with far less water. They were discovered by the Hydrans as their world was located in the Hydran Old Colonies. For nearly two decades, the Hydrans and Borak had a cordial relationship.  That changed after the Hydran homeworld fell to the Klingons and Lyrans and the Hydrans feared the Borak might join with their enemies. The Hydrans eliminated the Borak as a spacefaring power during the Early Years, though their fleet continued to evolve in Hydran simulators. During the General War, the Hydrans used the Borak in a game of deception, leaking data on their (non-existent) warships and presenting them as a powerful empire that wouldn’t appreciate having Hydrans and Lyrans intrude in their sphere of influence. The bluff worked because the Klingons and Lyrans didn’t figure it out until they were so heavily engaged against the Federation that they couldn’t spare the ships to conquer the Hydrans.

The opening stages of the Four Powers War dramatically illustrated the need for ships more powerful than a command cruiser to lead the fleets of the Borak Star League. The Borak Star League commissioned its first dreadnought two years after the start of the Four Powers War and assigned it to the Hydran border. Three more ships followed, and by six years later, a Borak Star League dreadnought could be found in each of the three border fleets, with a fourth serving in the home fleet. A fifth ship may have been built between later, but it appears no more than four dreadnoughts were ever in service simultaneously. Dreadnoughts served as fleet flagships and as the mobile headquarters for each Fleet Admiral’s command. Dreadnoughts were kept in continuous service in the border fleets, with ships rotating through the Hydran border and home fleets for maintenance and training. The dreadnought remained the most powerful class of warships in the Borak Star League fleet until the introduction of the war dreadnought. The four ships of the dreadnought class had long service lives, with the final ship remaining in service well into the era of X-ships. Known names include Formidable, Colossus, Borax, and Dominion.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
