Product Description
This collection includes the Klingon T7 Fleet Tug and D5H Light Tactical Transport , each with no pods and with one pod as well as a Fleet Tug with two pods. It also has two standalone single pods.

Tugs in the Star Fleet Universe are cruiser-sized naval vessels used for transportation, construction, and sometimes combat. These are relatively rare units, and there were never enough of them in any empire, the Klingons being no exception. They could carry the same pods as commercial freighters but at much faster speeds, although this was actually the least common mission and was used only to support major offensives to recover from major disasters. Their most vital mission was in construction: upgrading base stations to battle stations, and battle stations to starbases. They could be fitted with a number of non-cargo pods (that is, cargo pods fitted with actual systems instead of empty cargo space). Battle pods would turn a tug into a dreadnought; carrier pods would turn a tug into a strike carrier with a squadron (or two) of fighters.

The Klingons built two nearly identical tugs, the T6 (which had two disruptors) and the T7, also known as the Tug-A (which had four disruptors, the same as a D7 battlecruiser). The theory (which made sense in peacetime) was that T7s would take the jobs closer to the battle front while the cheaper T6s would take the jobs closer to the homeworlds. In the General War, tugs were so rare (there were always three or four missions waiting for each tug to finish the previous task) that the admiralty assigned whatever tug was available to the most vital mission remaining undone.

The D5H is a typical mini-tug often used with cargo or combat pods. It can carry one pod of any type, although pods block some of the cross-deck firing arcs for the wing and nose phasers. Like all tugs, the movement cost and turn mode vary with the pods carried. This ship is a variant of the D5 war cruiser. As with most Klingon ships, the boom can be separated as a survival vessel.

This sprue of unpainted ships is designed to fit on a typical 5/8-inch hex map or to allow more room on a larger hex map. (If used for A Call to Arms: Star Fleet, simply change the measurements from inches to centimeters.)
